2012 36/600 National Championship Regatta

Naples Model Yacht Club
  November 1, 2012 - Naples, FL
Vineyard's Lake

The 2012 36/600  National Championship Regatta is now history and can be entered in the record book. After a postponement Saturday Oct. 27th. caused by hurricane Sandy the racing got under way on Thursday Nov. 1st. There were 8 skippers entered and the weather was perfect with wind at 4 to 10 mph.

The first race set the tone for the day with Dick Hedderick, sailing a Venom, finishing 1st and the rest of the fleet mixing it up behind him. This was the pattern for the rest of the day. Bud Cassidy the R D moved things right along and we were able to get 14 long, quality races in.

Dick put on a amazing show with 12 firsts out of 14 races and deserves a hand for fast, fair sailing.
